coby linton -  principal architect, LEED AP

Work life began early for Coby under the tutelage of a master carpenter, and every family “vacation” was joyfully sweated away restoring historic homes in Savannah.  Graduating from the University of Georgia, he split his postgraduate years between hands-on preservation carpentry and architectural history research at the Georgia Historical Society.

Moving to New York in 2000, he earned a Master of Architecture degree from the Parsons School of Design.  After four exhilarating years designing contemporary homes at top-tier Manhattan firms, he fell in love with Durham at first sight and chased his dream southward in 2004.

Since launching Linton Architects in 2008, Coby’s work has received numerous awards and helped shape the revitalization of his beloved Bull City.  His diverse experience as a carpenter, contractor, preservationist, and contemporary architect informs the versatility of his design, allowing him to thoughtfully tailor each project to each client.  He loves his work and it shows. If you have some time to kill, ask him about his wife and kids. If you have more, ask about their insane summer camping trips.
